Why the Duo Ships Later Than the Rest of the Lineup
Unlike the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which went up for pre-order on September 12 and reached stores on September 18, the Duo runs on its own five-week-later schedule: pre-orders open October 16, with the device arriving in stores October 23. Apple has not explained the gap publicly, though it is consistent with a more complex, lower-volume product needing more production runway.
Craft by Merlin’s Customization, on the Hardware Available Today
Craft by Merlin’s customization program currently covers the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, both of which run the same A20 Pro chip found inside the Duo. If you want that same level of hand finished craftsmanship on hardware you can pre-book right now rather than waiting for October, the current collection covers eight finishes, from full-body 24K gold to hand wrapped alligator leather and four crystal tones.
