Inside, you still get the full PS5 experience in a smaller body: an ultra-high speed SSD for near-instant loading, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, up to 4K and 120fps output on supported games, Tempest 3D AudioTech and the same custom AMD CPU/GPU combo that powers the standard PS5.
The new PS5 Slim design is over 30% smaller and up to 24% lighter, with 1TB SSD storage on the disc model and a detachable Ultra HD Blu-ray drive option for the Digital Edition, so you can upgrade later if you want physical games.
On the outside, our artists carefully strip, prep and hand-paint each PS5 Slim shell (and matching DualSense in select editions) in small batches. Every colour layer is sealed with a durable clear coat while keeping vents, ports, LEDs and logos perfectly exposed, so cooling and connectivity stay exactly as Sony intended. The result: a compact, powerful PS5 Slim that still plays your favourite games like a beast—but looks like a custom art piece instead of a standard white slab.

Every unit in this collection starts as a brand-new, original PlayStation 5 Slim (Disc or Digital) from Sony or authorised retailers. We customise only the outer plastic covers and, in some editions, the DualSense controller. The internal hardware—CPU, GPU, SSD, cooling system and power electronics—remains untouched, so you get the exact same performance and features as a stock PS5 Slim.

In our lineup, PS5 Slim keeps the standard PS5 specs in a 30% smaller, lighter body with a 1TB SSD on the disc model and a detachable disc drive option for the Digital Edition. It’s perfect if you want full-fat PS5 performance in a compact, living-room-friendly design.
PS5 Pro (in your other collection) adds a more powerful GPU, AI-based PSSR upscaling and extra storage (2TB), designed for higher frame rates and more advanced ray tracing in supported games.
Both consoles get the same Craft by Merlin treatment on the outside—you just choose whether you want Slim practicality or Pro horsepower.

No. Our process is built specifically to respect all thermal and functional areas:
- We mask vents, intake/exhaust areas, USB ports, HDMI, power, buttons and status LEDs before painting.
- We don’t open or modify the internal fan, heatsinks or liquid metal.
That means your PS5 Slim still benefits from Sony’s intended airflow and performance targets while wearing a custom Craft by Merlin shell. The console runs and connects exactly like an unpainted PS5 Slim—just far better looking.

By design, PS5 Slim Disc Edition ships with a 1TB SSD. Many PS5 Slim Digital Edition units also launched with 1TB, but Sony has since released a revised Digital Slim model in some regions with 825GB SSD instead (same usable space as the launch PS5).
Craft by Merlin works with whichever official model is supplied in your market—your product page can clearly state whether your specific console is a 1TB Disc, 1TB Digital, or 825GB Digital unit. Regardless of the internal size, you can still add more space later using an official M.2 SSD expansion compatible with PS5.

Yes. Because these are authentic PS5 Slim consoles, the internal hardware remains covered by Sony’s standard regional warranty (subject to Sony’s terms). Sony may not cover cosmetic paintwork, which is where Craft by Merlin’s craftsmanship support comes in: if there’s a genuine issue with the paint or clear coat, you can reach out with photos and your order ID and we’ll help with repair or resolution options.
For care:
- Avoid alcohol, harsh solvents or abrasive sponges on the painted areas.
- Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth; for marks, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth and wipe gently.
- Keep the console in a well-ventilated spot so both the hardware and the finish stay in great condition over time.
